Billy Sullivan, touring guitarist with Herman’s Hermits moved from the Cleveland area into the Chicago area and posted on social media that he was looking for some guys to gig with in the area. Ron Romero answered and also contacted Mike Bruccoleri who was living in near by Indiana and who also toured with Herman’s Hermits for a while. Together they formed Acoustic Avenue and at one point performed over 300 shows a year.

Acoustic Avenue was the alter ego to Electric Avenue which was the same classic lineup but added a drummer. Mike Bruccoleri left the band and Jimmy Herter was brought in cover the 3rd spot. Jimmy is a multi instrumentalist who added guitar, keys, flute, sax and more. Coincidentally, Herter subbed for Vance Bresscia who is the lead guitarist with Herman’s Hermits on several dates.

Sullivan left the band and Romero carried on adding Jim Alberico who had occasionally subbed for Sullivan. After a short while Alberico left and was replaced by Dean Schuldt.

Herter Retired in 2019 and was replaced by Jim Sokachitch. Romero, Schuldt and Sokachitch still perform occasionally but have focused their efforts on the Flatbed Fords – Tribute to the Eagles.

The museum suffered damage as the result of a microburst in downtown Joliet. The building did sustain some damage however we are extremely grateful that no one was injured during this tragedy.

We are fortunate that Gigantar, our exhibit artifacts and the gift shop merchandise all escaped any damage.

We are temporarily closed to the public as we work with our contractors through the cleanup process.
Please stay tuned as we get back in the groove.
