“Cactus Jack”

Originally a duo, “Bartholemew and Douglas” with Ted Douglas on lead guitar and Jim Bartholemew on vocals and rhythm, the two added Mike Kieffer on bass and Kirby Bivans on drums and became Cactus Jack. Under the management of Carolyn Bowman, who also managed Rokko and the Hat, the band worked steadily, most notably at Durty Nellies in Palatine and Durty Dicks on the Northwest side of Chicago.

The museum suffered damage as the result of a microburst in downtown Joliet. The building did sustain some damage however we are extremely grateful that no one was injured during this tragedy. 


We are fortunate that Gigantar, our exhibit artifacts and the gift shop merchandise all escaped any damage. 


We are temporarily closed to the public as we work with our contractors through the cleanup process.
