The Scuttlebucket Band played the Chicago and suburban circuit during the 1970s heyday of Bluegrass. The band was known for its intricate three part harmonies and top rate instrumentals, playing a wide variety of pop songs in a bluegrass style as well as traditional numbers. Members were Rick Shryock, Dean Milano, Jim Bertolin and the late Chuck Wahlstrom. The band recalled playing neighborhood bars where the crowds could get pretty wild and the bass player frequently found himself trying to protect his vintage 1850 Czech upright bass from flying objects and falling patrons. The band is pictured here performing at Nashville North in Bensenville, Illinois.

The museum suffered damage as the result of a microburst in downtown Joliet. The building did sustain some damage however we are extremely grateful that no one was injured during this tragedy.

We are fortunate that Gigantar, our exhibit artifacts and the gift shop merchandise all escaped any damage.

We are temporarily closed to the public as we work with our contractors through the cleanup process.
Please stay tuned as we get back in the groove.
