Meet Clay Johnson

Board Member

At the end of 2019, Clay had been in the electrical business for 50+ years.

He retired at that time, as Managing Partner from Joliet Technologies, LLC.

During that time, Clay served for 9 year on the board for CASA of Will County.

6 years on the Joliet Chamber of Commerce and served as Chair of the Board for 1 year. Clay received the Rabbi Hershman Community Service Award in 2018.

Clay also served on the Joliet Area Historical Museum for 4 years, before stepping down to serve as Project Manager and Volunteer Manager for the Old Joliet Prison.

Clay also has served in some capacity to many events including, New Orleans North, Fiesta En la Calle, Break-In events at the Old Joliet Prison, Blues Brothers Con 2022.

He has a passion to help the community, by giving his time, talent and sometimes…treasure with organizations that work to make Joliet area a more vibrant place for everyone.

Clay and his wife Cindy live here Joliet, and has six wonderful grandchildren to brag about!  (Picture will be sent asap.

The museum suffered damage as the result of a microburst in downtown Joliet. The building did sustain some damage however we are extremely grateful that no one was injured during this tragedy. 


We are fortunate that Gigantar, our exhibit artifacts and the gift shop merchandise all escaped any damage. 


We are temporarily closed to the public as we work with our contractors through the cleanup process.
